About us
A South African magazine for South African stories
DetecFy.org is a premium digital magazine on the people who define entertainment in South Africa: presenters, actors, musicians, sports stars, creators and designers.
Our mission
We combine the polish of an international entertainment magazine with a proudly local voice. Our readers are South African adults who enjoy television, music, sport, fashion and the personalities behind them.
Our goal is a trustworthy editorial experience: beautiful photography, thoughtful writing and a clear line between independent journalism and sponsored content.
We are preparing the magazine for future reading in Afrikaans, isiZulu and isiXhosa, so more of the country can enjoy the stories in their own language.
Our editorial standards
Verified, attributed, opinion
Every claim is labelled. Verified information, attributed statements and personal opinion are clearly separated.
No rumours as facts
We never present unverified personal rumours as established fact, and we say so when something is speculation.
Properly licensed images
All photography is original or properly licensed, and credited wherever required.
The people behind the pages
Features Editor
Commissions interviews and long-form profiles on television, music and sport.
Photo Editor
Selects and licenses the photography that gives every story its look.
